This week we have expanded the aeroplane theme to include all vehicles. We also set up activities to develop the children's interest in colour mixing.
The children were encouraged to mix colours and record what they discovered using the class cameras. A variety of equipment was supplied to transport the water. They were encouraged to challenge themselves and use all of the equipment to help develop the muscles in their hands.
Black paper, vehicles, blocks, numbers and masking tape were provided following on from a discussion in class about making roads. The children played with this for a long time. Discussing the best way to make roads, parking bays, tunnels etc. They put the numbers in order, shared the cars evenly, sorted the vehicles into different types and even arranged the numbers into even and odd! Unfortunately I forgot to get a picture of the end result!
Following on from last weeks jelly experiment the children were introduced to using gelatine and water. We planned to make a large clear jelly that we could inject with different coloured water and watch it run through and mix together.
It was a huge hit and the shouts of glee when new colours were made was a joy to hear. They were able to explain to each other what happened when certain colours were added.
Thank you for reading and please leave a comment. The children really enjoy looking at the blog and are so pleased when there is a new comment to read.
