Mrs Fletcher's class wrote instructions about 'How to be an Eco Warrior!' Mrs Anderson's class made posters to remind us not to waste food.
Alice came into school to work with classes 3,4,5 and 6. She taught us all about invasive species and how creatures or plants from other countries can spread so easily into our waterways and countryside, completely changing habitats, threatening the creatures that live there. She told us how to safely dispose of plant waste to help prevent this happening. We used atlases and gloves to find out how far the invasive species had travelled to reach The British Isles. Some of us even created interesting creative species of our own.
Meanwhile at Environment club year 3 children collected molehill soil from the footpath to re-use on bare patches of earth where we would like new grass to grow.
Across the school in many ways we learned about how to reduce waste and how to preserve Our World, it's plants, animals and its resources.
